Dante’s Inferno…NEED HUMANITIES (other poems,sculptures)that relate to circle 2(lust) and circle 3(gluttony)
i need to find other poems, sculptures, stories, or even movie or short film that relate to cirlce 2 of lust and cirlce 3 of gluttony…any help appreciated….thank you…we found a painting…we need many more
Examples of lust are probably easier to find, but the word “gluttony” immediately brought two examples to mind:
(1) In Aristophanes’ Frogs, the landlady of a tavern in Hades gives an impassioned and hilarious account of how Heracles ate her out of house and home when he came down to carry off the dog Cerberus.
(2) Remember the eating scene in the movie Tom Jones? Actually, it combines both the vices you’re searching for!
