How much is Axis & Allies Revised Edition worth?
I bought it for around 40, but on Amazon.com it is now listed at about 150.
Any game is worth as much as someone else is willing to pay for it. The fact that A & A Revised isn’t sold in stores anymore, and hasn’t been sold in stores for a very long time, makes it a more valuable commodity to those who are interested in the game. Although A & A Third is similar to A & A Revised, it is not the same. If it were, it would greatly reduce the value of A & A Revised. Why would a gamer who wasn’t a game collector buy an old version of a game when a newer, better version is available at any good game store?
The fact that A & A Revised is such a good game, and is arguably a better game than A & A Third, makes it even more valuable. In my opinion, $150 isn’t an unreasonable price for such a fun game. Considering people are willing to spend tens of thousands on a small piece of cardboard that has a picture of Mickey Mantle during his rookie year of professional baseball on it, and all you can do with that piece of cardboard is frame it, look at it, show it off, and not much else (how boring is that?), $150 is a pretty good deal to some people. At least you can have some fun with A & A Revised. – LJS
