Ladies (pregnancy): How irritating is it to be called fat/big by strangers when you have no control over it?
Ladies (pregnancy): How irritating is it to be labeled as fat/big or called fat/big by strangers when you have no control over it and your body is handling a human being?
I understand when it’s the dad or a friend or family and they are saying it in a lovely/joking way, but when strangers are saying it with the underlying mean tone, how irritating is it?
I was just telling my husband how odd it is being pregnant. People all of a sudden think they can say things to you that would otherwise be considered rude. I think my favorite is, “oh my goodness, you are so big!” Well yes, I am 33 weeks pregnant. I would never say that to someone that was not pregnant. Why do you think it is ok to say it to someone because they are pregnant? It is never ok to say someone is big or fat. I prefer it when people say, “You are just so pregnant!” Now that is something that I can get behind. That is how I feel…just so pregnant now 
It gives a much more positive spin to the whole weight gain thing.
