Odyssey Classics
Fundamentalists and classic literature…?

Do you take issue with the teaching of the “classics” (ie greek and roman literature that concerns their mythology, etc.)? if so, why? the reason I ask is because many other books (Harry Potter, etc.) are decried as evil and anti-christian. Under this logic, doesn’t the Iliad and the Odyssey fall into the category as un-christian because it teaches about beliefs that are not in line with christian thought? Is learning about any other religion other than your taboo? I’m not trying to be snide, so please don’t take offense.

I am a fundamentalist christian and quite frankly I enjoyed every book you have listed. Technically you are correct these books are not christian and have nothing to do with christianity. However yo can learn a great deal from them. For example in Harry Potter you learn to oppose that which is evil, prety much no matter what, which is a christian principle.
