How to Be Cool ¦ Win Friends, Earn Respect, and Influence People
How to Get People’s Respect and Change Your Prospects in Life
Today, it’s bad enough worrying about your job, income, and whether the entire world economy is going to self-implode. You sure don’t want to worry about how COOL you are, how many friends you have, how you’re going to get the girl you like.
That’s why, if you’re looking to be the guy (or girl) who wins friends, succeeds at work, and attracts the opposite sex, you need to learn how to be cool. Not the coolest guy on the planet, mind you. Just someone who commands respect, can influence people, and knows how to make friends. Ultimately, being liked and having respect are what matter in the world of coolness.
Because, let’s face it, being cool isn’t just about a fancy car or knowing how to surf well. Hardly! It’s also about your career and your people skills. Unless you study insects or rocks for a living, PEOPLE SKILLS matter. Even if you’re not directly involved in sales, you’re always selling yourself: at job interviews, in talking to the opposite sex, and winning the political wars at work. We’re always selling ourselves, and COOL PEOPLE SELL THE BEST.
Think about it: Who do you buy from? Or wish to date? Or enjoy hanging around the most? It’s always the person who’s fun, who’s charismatic, who’s got people’s respect. You’ve heard people buy from people they like. Well, you have to have a certain bit of “cool” in you to be likable.
And if you can appeal to a broad range of people, your selling is certainly going to reach new heights!
You’ll get the sales commission, you’ll get the friends, and guys, YOU’LL GET THE WOMEN.
Interested? Now let’s find out how to be cool.
The Truth About Being Cool
Now, don’t get me wrong. Again, I am NOT saying you have to be the coolest guy on the planet. Because, after all, not everyone CAN be the coolest guy. Nor should you aim to be. You just want to be the guy who:
1- earns respect
2 – makes friends
3 – and can inflience people.
If you know how to do these three things, believe me, you’ll sell yourself to the best customers, the best women, and the best employers out there. The recession just won’t be a problem, because you’ll be able to sell yourself to the people who MATTER. Because being cool is NOT about being popular with everyone.
It’s about having the respect and confidence of those who MATTER.
Here’s the great news: With the right attitude, some self respect (ie, not aiming to be friends with EVERYONE and knowing how to overcome rejection), and the right knowledge, ANYONE can become cool. I’ve seen the guys who were nerds in high school go on to become well-liked executives and men who are popular with the ladies. Everyone is capable of change; being cool is NOT something that comes only to those who are born with it.
How You Can Be Cool, Too
So if you’re interested in learning the secrets to making friends, influencing people, and becoming someone people ENJOY being around, take the next step and read more about it. I recommend a guide written by a guy who’s very cool, but not in the traditional way. He’s just someone EVERYONE likes to be around.
And yes, he’s good with the ladies and REAL. More than just being a “cool” guy, he helps men and women alike feel GOOD about themselves. And I think that, really, is what every cool guy or girl is about: lifting others up. Because, hey, it’s a tough world out there, and you want to be someone who people look to for inspiration.
That someone to get you in the right direction is Scot McKay, and his guide is called “The Engineer’s Guide to Being Cooler Than the Salesguy.”
If being someone who people respect, are attracted to, and want to buy from sounds good to you, give it a shot.
It’s cool!
