When knitting and casting on using the single knit otherwise known as the backwards loop knit, do u use a slip?
Do you use a slip knot?
I don’t.
The reason I don’t is that if I’m using the backward-loop cast-on, the edge should be knot free. I understand that some people *do* use the slip knot and then don’t count the knot as one of the cast-on stitches so they can unravel it after they have knit the first row. Doing it that way would also leave a knot-free cast-on edge.
