Fairy Tale Weddings And Low Budget Planning
If you’ve imagined that planning low budget fairy tale weddings as something that can only be done in storybooks but never in real life; walking down the aisle of a castle in a billowy Cinderella wedding gown while your knight in shining armor rides in to take you as his bride, this enchantment and magic is what myths and legends are made of, but certainly not something that you can accomplish without the bank account of the king and queen.
Quite untrue – fairy tale weddings are produced and designed from your dreams and you can bring your own fairy tale to life whether you’ve dreamed of an elaborate celebration at the most exquisite venue you can find or you’re dreaming of a romantic and intimate gathering.
Your fairy tale wedding is what you dream of; you are the writer and director of your dream and you can bring your fairy tale to life even with the court jester’s checkbook.
When helping my daughter plan the fairy tale wedding she’d always dreamed of – from her wedding dress through the reception and everything in between – I found that it can all be accomplished on what some would consider the pauper’s bank account. We bought the wedding dress she’d always seen herself wearing, they had a total of ten attendants, a live band and caterer. And we spent less than $4,000 total from start to finish.
And my husband and I had our fairy tale wedding as a wedding anniversary celebration complete with my dream wedding dress, elegant attendants’ dresses and groomsmen’s suits; we had a DJ, a caterer and a beautiful wedding anniversary cake in a lovely social hall. Our low budget fairy tale wedding totaled less than $6,000.
Planning fairy tale weddings on a low budget is easier than you may think; the key to achieving your dreams is in early planning. The earlier you start your blueprint, the easier it is to execute it and make your dreams come true.
The earlier you get started on your plans, the less money you’ll spend to have the fairy tale wedding of your dreams. For instance, if you give yourself several months to a year, you’ll have plenty of time to shop around and find the best deals on wedding venues, wedding invitations, your dream wedding dress, caterers and even low budget wedding favors.
Now assuming you have a reasonable guest list not in the hundreds, because be mindful of the fact that you must feed your guests at the reception, you can spend remarkably less by finding low budget ideas for catering, like having your friends and family help supply the food or by selecting an elegant hors d’oeuvres menu with drinks instead of a full dinner menu. And if you start early enough and get your attendants to help, you can make your own festive and low budget table centerpieces, decorations, favors, and even bouquets instead of spending the requisite fortune on retail items.
Designing low budget weddings out of even the most fantastic of dreams honestly can be made a reality and by following your blueprint, you can bring your fairy tale to life even with the court jester’s checkbook.

What are some books based off of fairy tales?
I just would like some lists of books (or movies) that were based off of fairy tales (sans Disney movies…DUH!). Mainly books.
