African American?
I had a question honestly. Is being called “black”
offensive to anyone? What about “african american”
I honestly dont know. And would hate to offend anyone.
So what do you think?I have met some asians who
really dont like being called oriental.
And I know some mexicans who prefer hispanic. I have never
had the balls to ask so I’m askin now thanks alot!
I don´t think being called black is offensive, but then again, i am not the spokesperson for black people. and it is wrong to call a dominican african-american because they´re not. they´re hispanic or latinos or DOMINICAN. i don´t know what this obsession with race and placing people in a box is here in this part of the world. and, also, i am black and not african american, that is also an an option. that is, i am of african origin, living in the states, but not american. it´s hard to place people in a box, so try not to do it. and NEVER call an asian person oriental. Oriental is a thing (carpet, furniture…) Aisan is a person.
