How to Make Strawberry Shortcake Cookies (A Simple Treat to Share)

Things You’ll Need:
1 Package of Pillsbury Ready To Bake sugar cookies
1 Tub of Whipped Cream Cheese (regular or flavored)
1 Carton of fresh strawberries
Oven
2 Cookie Sheets
Cutting board
Paring knife
Butter knife or teaspoon
Tablespoon
Cooling racks (optional)

Step 1:
Follow the simple instructions on the back of the Pillsbury Ready-To-Bake Sugar Cookies. It will instruct you to pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Then will ask you to place the cookie dough rounds (24 cookies come in a package) about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Recommended baking time is 11 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Since each oven is different be sure to check on your cookies a few times to make sure they don't burn.

Step 2:
While your cookies are baking, use the time to slice the strawberries. These will be used to top off your treat! Wash the strawberries thoroughly, and chop off the green hulls. Using a cutting board and paring knife, slice each strawberry horizontally making thin circular pieces.

Step 3:
Retrieve finished cookies from your oven and allow to cool for about 2 minutes. Remove them from the cookie sheet onto either cooling racks or paper towels on your counter. Allow to continue to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 4:
Now that the cookies are cooled off, you can put on the toppings. With a butter knife (or teaspoon if preferred) smooth about a tablespoon of whipped cream cheese onto each cookie. Next put a few sliced strawberries on each frosted cookie. Voila! You are finished. Share and enjoy!
