How much would it cost to fix a Cherokee that jumped time?
It's a 2000 jeep Cherokee. With 180k five speed with I believe a 2.5 4 cylinder. If it also warped or bent the heads how much extra would that be? And is there any other problems jumping time would cause?
Lots! be prepared to spend atleast a few grand, they wont know what needs to be replaced till they tear into it. could be as simple as replacing the timing chain, and a tune up, but thats if you got super lucky. What probably happened is it bent the valves and possibly damaged the pistons, could be a total rebuild.
Expect the worst! You dont want to be caught offguard.
