How do you feel about casting a fairy tale with a racially mixed cast as in rodger and hammersteins Cinderella
How do you feel about casting a fairy tale like Cinderella with a racially mixed cast as in the Disney- produced version of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella with Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother, Brandi as Cinderella, Bernadette Peters as the Stepmother etc.? What are the effects? In your response, try to incorporate specific examples from the film.
The time period and the location kind of throw the possibility of the racial mix out the window. Not even in a class issue, the two races of people where separated by a continent when the story was supposed to take place.
However as a simple story, made by Disney, they have done worse with their history. Much worse.
